A good carseat for the priceJan 14, 2008 Unlike the other two reviewers, I'm not interested in preserving my leather seats - I'm much more concerned about preserving my son's life and my pocketbook - in that order. It's a great seat for the price, and I expect it to last from age 2-7/8.
If you want to spend a fortune, and/or preserve your leather seats, buy the Britax. If you want a good seat that will keep your child safe without breaking the bank, this one is for you.

Safety question with Safety First!Nov 28, 2007 There is a big safety concern with this seat put out by the company Safety 1st. There is a metal piece on the back of the seat that the two shoulder harnesses slip over to secure in the back. This same metal bracket holds the strap to the bottom that you pull to tighten things. When you loosen it the straps get so loose that shoulder harness can slip off the bracket. You must remove the entire seat each time in order to fix the shoulder strap. This is not only a huge annoyance but not safe since they would prefer the fire department to put in your seat each time. I can't do that each time it falls off and I have to do it myself. I have called the company and they are sending a new seat in order to examine mine. It just can't be safe that it is that easy to have the shoulder strap come off like that.
The other small complaint is that the seat bottom cushion is a light blue and it shoes dirt horribly. Also, the bottom plastic supports poke very bad into the leather seat. Much worse then the Triumph we had prior or the booster seat. I am worried it won't every look right again.

DisappointingOct 11, 2007 Our son outgrew his Britax Roundabout; we purchased the Safety 1st Apex Booster Car Seat at the recommendation of a nurse/baby safety expert. First, it is not easily secured in place. The pointed edges on the base dig into our leather seats, damaging the upholstery. We are generally disappointed in the seat. A Britax Marathon is on order to replace it.
